COVID-19 UPDATE: Due to the economic fallout of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are forced to make some operational changes. Over the next month, POET biorefineries in Chancellor, South Dakota and Ashton and Coon Rapids, Iowa will temporarily idle production. In addition, the biorefinery in Shelbyville, Indiana will be delaying the startup of production.

POET has faced difficult times in the past and we have proven our resiliency. We value the partnership and relationship we have with all of our producers and look forward to getting back to normal operations. POET Biorefining - Jewell, Iowa, consumes approximately 24 million bushels of locally-grown corn and produces more than 69 million gallons of ethanol annually. POET Biorefining - Jewell not only provides an environmentally-friendly fuel, but also a premium, high-quality Dakota Gold® brand livestock feed for regional, national and international markets.

Operation start-up began in March 2006. POET Biorefining - Jewell was built by Sioux Falls, SD-based Poet Design & Construction, who began building ethanol plants in the 1980s.
