COVID-19 UPDATE: Due to the economic fallout of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are forced to make some operational changes. Over the next month, POET biorefineries in Chancellor, South Dakota and Ashton and Coon Rapids, Iowa will temporarily idle production. In addition, the biorefinery in Shelbyville, Indiana will be delaying the startup of production.

POET has faced difficult times in the past and we have proven our resiliency. We value the partnership and relationship we have with all of our producers and look forward to getting back to normal operations. POET Biorefining, located near Loomis, SD began operations in December 2006. The state-of-the-art ethanol production facility will consume approximately 24 million bushels of locally-grown corn to produce 68 million gallons of ethanol annually.

POET Biorefining - Mitchell will provide a high performance, environmentally-friendly fuel as well as a premium, high-quality Dakota Gold® brand livestock feed for regional, national and international markets.
